We had an amazing time with Rey and Adi from toursumatrabatukatak.com. The forest has beautiful rock formations and caves. We felt like walking in a fairytale. Our experience got even better when Rey and Adi spotted an orangutan family. We were able to observe a mother with a cute little baby and an impressive male orangutan. Rey's team took excellent care of us with impressive fruit plates, tasty lunches and dinners, and evenings with card tricks! We finished our jungle experience the best way possible: tubing on the river! Believe me: better then any attraction in an amusement park! When asked, Rey also organized a fun day activity for us, touring villages, learning about making tofu, tempeh and gula aren, finishing with a cooking class making the best Gado Gado in Sumatra 😋

A truly amazing place to visit! If you are looking for an authentic jungle experience this is the place to be! Just on the edge of the jungle, in Batu Katak you can immerse yourself in nature through jungle tours led by brilliant, knowledgeable and experienced guides that can take you through local caves or to see the endemic Rafflesia and Titan arum (corpse flower) in bloom. A magical and unique place that gave me memories I will never forget.
